Funeral Director

Angie is a native of Portsmouth, VA and a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. She joined the Altmeyer Family in February of 2014 with 8 years of funeral service experience to her credit. She graduated from the Funeral Service Program at Tidewater Community College in December 2015 and became a Licensed Funeral Director in March 2016. When it comes to serving families that have suffered the loss of a loved one, Angie’s approach is one that is filled with compassion, attention to detail and a listening ear. She strives to make every service personalized as well as a true testament and reflection of the life lived by the deceased. Angie makes every effort to fulfill the vision of the family as well as honor the wishes of the deceased no matter how simple or grand. She is a Life Tribute Celebrant, which is someone that serves as an officiant for services with a focus of telling the story of those who have passed. Angie is also an active member of the Virginia Funeral Directors’ Association, where she serves as a mentor as well as a member of the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice where she received the designation of Certified Funeral Service Practitioner, granted to an exclusive group of Funeral Directors that opt to go over and beyond the state and national standards of funeral service requirements and learn the newest trends in the funeral service profession and the best ways to serve families. She also enjoys reading, writing, listening to music, working out, watching football, basketball and boxing and spending time with who she regards as her greatest accomplishment and the love of her life, her daughter Mackenzie.
