Willie Joseph Lanier, born on July 23, 1954, in Florida, peacefully passed away on February 12, 2024, in Norfolk, VA. He was 69 years old.

Willie led a fulfilling life, dedicating 20 years to the US Navy as a cook, serving his country with dedication and skill. Known for his warm and friendly nature, Willie was very personable, likable, and accommodating, making him a beloved figure in the lives of those who knew him.

He will always be remembered for his generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Willie touched the hearts of many with his kindness and giving nature.

Willie Joseph Lanier is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee and Bernice Lanier, as well as his sisters, Linda Vaughn and Susie Mae Lanier. He is survived by his loving sister, Stacey McCain, and brother, Mitchell Lanier, along with a host of family and friends who will cherish his memory forever.

In honoring his life, let us remember Willie as a compassionate soul who brightened the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
