William Wiley Tucker, III

August 28, 1958 - August 8, 2023

08/28/1958 - 08/08/2023

William Wiley Tucker III, Bill to his friends, and Billy to most of his family, of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away in his sleep in the early morning of Tuesday, August 8, 2023. Bill died of congestive heart failure caused by critical aortic stenosis and COPD. He was 20 days away from celebrating his 65th birthday. Although Bill lived in Virginia Beach, he called Rockledge, Florida his home.

Bill was born to William Wiley Tucker, Jr., and Barbara Ann Beach (Bruder) in Melbourne, Florida on August 28, 1958.

Sergeant William Wiley Tucker, III served in the 82nd Airborne, the “RED DRAGONS.”

Bill earned his degree from Tampa Technical Institute and applied his knowledge and skill as a Project Design Manager specializing in component design for multi-family projects.

Bill is survived by his mother, Barbara Beach. His siblings, Timothy Tucker, Kelly and Rich Winston, Sean and Tracey Tucker. Having no children of his own, Bill was deeply committed to and loved his nieces and nephews: Sean Lapinski, Joe Lapinski, Shannon Lapinski, Megan Winston, Morgan Winston, Mathew Winston, Alyssa Tucker, Bailey Tucker, and Shelby Tucker. His stepmother Angie Tucker. And Kevin, his devoted and loving boxer mix.

Bill was pre-deceased by his sister, Tammy Renee (Tucker) Lapinski (2007) and his father, William Wiley Tucker, Jr. (2022).

Those who knew Bill knew he had a gruff personality but if you knew him well, you know that under that hard exterior, he was witty, funny, quietly generous, big-hearted, and incredibly smart.

Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, VA is honored to serve the Tucker family.
