William Ryll

June 16, 1964 - July 25, 2022

06/16/1964 - 07/25/2022

William “Bill” T. Ryll, 58, passed away unexpectedly on July 25. 2022 in Virginia Beach, VA. Bill was born on June 16. 1964 in Elmira, NY to the late William J. and Margaret “Peggy” (Wierda) Ryll.

Bill resided in Virginia Beach for many years and operated his own medical billing business (SF Enterprises) for almost 20 years. He then started working at Anthem in 2018, where he was currently employed. Bill loved to see his niece, great nephews and great niece, along with his favorite doberman, Maci “girl”, when he would visit his hometown in NY. He took great pride in being a father figure to his “nephew”, Sid. Bill enjoyed his job at Anthem and the friendships he made there, especially his co-worker, Miranda. He was an avid Bingo player every Sunday and loved the game…when he won. His boisterous, bold personality and quick witty remarks could get a laugh out of anyone. He enjoyed relaxing at 4:20pm and getting together with his friends for some good laughs.

Those surviving to cherish his memory include his “nephew” Sid Feldman (Buffalo, NY); his sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Earl Sowell (Horseheads, NY); niece, Elizabeth (Joe) Reed (Horseheads, NY); great nephews and great niece, Landon, Kailyn and JJ Reed. Also surviving are numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins. He leaves behind his best friend/”brother” Ricky Wright and a host of friends in Virginia.

Bill’s sense of humor, gregarious personality, and hearty giggle will be dearly missed by all those who were a part of his life, “you know what I mean”.

Private services to be held. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in his honor to Chemung County SPCA (2435 State Route 352, Elmira, NY 14901) or your favorite charity.

I am so sad to see another friend gone too soon. I will always remember our high school antics, your smile and laugh, but most of all, our long friendship. RIP Bill, thanks for the memories.
