William Paul Adams passed away peacefully on July 4th, 2023 at the age of 27 in Norfolk, Virginia.
William was born on August 2nd, 1995 in Austin, Texas to Adam and Pamela Adams. He spent his childhood in Elgin, Texas and graduated from Elgin High School in 2013, where he played both soccer and football. Upon graduating high school, he accepted a scholarship to play football at the University of Central Arkansas. After college, William joined the U.S. Navy and was able to travel the world while serving on the USS Whidbey Island, which led him to the love of his life, Gaby.
William’s childhood was filled with games and family competitions against his father and sisters. The soccer and ping pong games were epic in every way imaginable. During William’s teenage years he fell in love with soccer and video games and the passion only grew throughout his life. William made lasting relationships with many people but was especially close to his childhood friends Miguel and AJ.
William spent most of his time playing with his daughter, Sofia, and goofing around with his wife, Gaby. He always had time for Sofia, but he did look forward to her bedtime when he was able to get on his PS5 and play online with his friends Owen, Miguel and AJ. William was a jokester; It was one of the most amazing things about him and he could make any situation funny. He and Gaby spent lots of time improvising arguments so they were always ready for the next fight they would have at work. He spoke often of his friends and all the things they would do on deployment or back at home. Ultimately, William’s greatest accomplishment was becoming a father.
William is preceded in death by his Grandfather, Ronald Pipkin, Grandparents; William and Judy Adams, Great Grandparents; Cecil and Marguerite Smith and Benjamin and Nora Attrice Johnson.
William is survived by his wife Gabriela and daughter Sofia Attrice, Parents, Adam and Pamela, Sisters, Hillary and Grace, his Kitty Kat Cebada, and Puppy Dog Ellie.
He also leaves his grandparents; Robert Garvel and Shirley Garvel, Mother-in-law Cecilia Barroso, brothers-in-law; Chuy Barroso and Jesse Barroso, and sister-in-law Halie Barroso, Uncles; Brian Garvel (Amy) and Donnie Grames (Jennifer), Aunts; Gina Hibbs (Bobby), Stacy Kohorst (Joe), and Christina Garvel. William also leaves many great-aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.

Miss you Boy
Love you Boy
My deepest condolences to the family. Though we weren’t necessarily friends we did serve on the Whidbey Island together and from what i observed, EVERYONE loved him! Rest up shipmate ❤️🩹
I am sad to hear the news of his passing. I babysat William at 6 weeks old until he was 6 months and what a cute chubby baby he was. I thought about him often throughout my life and I’d ask my husband if he knew the whereabouts of Adam and William. He finally connected with Adam through Facebook. I was so happy to hear what a wonderful life he was living. Now, it breaks my heart 💔 to be sending you all my deepest condolences and my prayers 😭🙏🏼 May God give you the strength you need during this time. God bless you
It is with a heavy heart that I send love and condolences to the precious family of William. May little Sophia be a reminder forever of the love and light that was her Daddy.
My heart is full of prayers for comfort and peace for the family that William leaves behind. May the memories of better days make this journey somewhat easier.
Until we meet again…
I cannot find the words to express how deeply sorry I am to hear of your dear son’s passing. I know God doesn’t make mistakes, but here on Earth it’s so difficult not to question. May HE wrap you in His loving arms in the days, months and years to come and hopefully give you peace and understanding at some point. I’m sending all of you love and a hug. I wish there were more I could do.
May the love of God surround you and your family during this difficult time,
May you come to know that the love of God is with you always,
May your memories of William Paul Adams, give you peace, comfort and strength…
Rest now in the arms of our Lord your mission on earth is complete.
I thank you for your service to our Country and my Freedom. You will not be forgotten.

Dear Coach and Pam,
Ed and I are so heartbroken for you all, we grieve for you and pray for you to find strength, peace and comfort. I didn’t know William well but I do know he was a great kid and how proud y’all were of him and we are so very sorry for his passing. We will continue to keep you all in our hearts in the days and weeks to come.
There are no words that can ease the pain of a loss of this magnitude. I pray that you find some comfort and peace in the warm embrace of your family, friends, and faith in God. My family will always remember William as the cute little boy we knew as he was growing up, and ultimately, the brave and compassionate man he grew up to be. He is an American Hero for his years of service and sacrifice.
