William E. Chenworth, III, 43, passed away unexpectedly November 29, 2020. Will was born in Denver, Colorado, to Patricia Midgett Chenworth and William Earl Chenworth, Jr. He is survived by his younger brother, Scott T. Chenworth of Fort Collins, Colorado.
Will was a graduate of Niwot High School, Niwot, Colorado, and attended Johnson & Wales Culinary Institute and American Culinary Federation Apprentice Program. He was an accomplished chef and musician. As an executive chef at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield, Colorado, he was captain of the Iron Chef Boulder team that competed against Denver and won. He also took first place in the March of Dimes chef competition against 30 other restaurants. He would always say that Mark Monette, then executive chef and co-owner of the Flagstaff House in Boulder, taught him all he knew.
After spending his first 37 years in Colorado, he decided to spend some time at the ocean. He has been in Virginia Beach for the last 6 years. He grew up playing soccer through high school and loved skiing, snowboarding, surfing and his dog, Sandy.
He could light up a room with his beautiful smile and twinkling blue eyes. We want to think of him now, sitting on a warm beach with his “Sandybear”—his yellow lab.
We will celebrate his life with a gathering of friends and family when it is safe to travel and bring his and Sandy’s ashes back to Colorado. Date and place to be determined.
Left also to cherish his memory are aunts, uncles, and cousins and friends around the globe. The cousins will remember his silly laugh when they were together. He loved you so much.

My heart goes out to all of you that I have spoken with and had to tell you the sad news. He shared so many wonderful stories about his friends and has broadened my love of music to include Seth and Josh and Gregory and Ramaya. He was so proud to call you his “other” brothers. To all the ladies that loved him…and his beautiful hair, thank you for caring for him. And then there was the three amigos, Will, Dave and Josh. And the heavy metal band in the basement! Will was always the best big brother to Scott and loved him so much, always worrying about Scott’s adventures. Will loved with all his heart and never failed to tell us how much he loved us. Always remember that!
Please know that any of his cousins and friends can call me any time to share your memories. We will let everyone know when we will gather in Colorado.

Love you Will RIP God bless you.❤
A larger than life character. Many fond memories on and off the soccer field growing up in Niwot together.
Playing baseball in your backyard. Going to the mountains. Four wheeling.
One of my oldest friendships. Rest easy old friend. You will be missed.
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Will’s passing. I can’t imagine what you must be feeling. I send my deepest sympathy to you, Will’s family, and friends. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for loving Gigi, as she loved you back so deeply. You made her so happy over the last few years. Our prayers go out to Gigi and to your family.
I was so sorry to hear the sad news about Will. May you take comfort in your memories.
Will was such a talented and beautiful person. I’ll never forget his smile and his sarcastic sense of humor. My love goes out to all his family and friends. I know he’ll be critiquing my vegetable chopping skills and the state of my kitchen knives from heaven now. Rest in peace, cousin.
