Van Hanh Nguyen, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on October 23, 2023, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was born on March 23, 1953, in Vietnam. Van Hanh was 70 years old at the time of his passing.
Throughout his life, Van dedicated himself to a lifelong career as a mechanic, with his most recent employment being with Hampton Roads Transit. His expertise and commitment to his craft were evident in his diligent work.
Van had a zest for life and a wide range of interests. He enjoyed taking long road trips, exploring new restaurants, fishing, and spending peaceful evenings on the porch with his loved ones. His love for adventure and his warm presence touched the hearts of those around him.
Van is survived by his loving wife, Cam Nguyen, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He also leaves behind three children, Lee, Leon, and Lilian Nguyen, who were his pride and joy. His grandson, Liam Nguyen, brought endless delight and happiness into his life. Additionally, Van cherished Thuy Nguyen as if she were his own child. He also leaves behind many brothers, sisters, and extended family members who will forever hold cherished memories of their time together.
Services to honor Van’s memory will be held as follows: there will be visitation and prayer service at Altmeyer Funeral Home Southside Chapel (5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462) on Tuesday, October 31, starting at 7pm. The following morning, November 1, a Catholic Mass will take place at 8 am at Our Lady of Lavang (409 Campostella Rd, Norfolk, VA 23523), with burial to follow immediately at Colonial Grove Memorial Park.
Though Van passing has left us with a deep sense of loss, may we find solace in remembering the joy and warmth he brought to our lives. His spirit will live on through the memories we hold dear in our hearts.
