Chesapeake – Valma Griggs Dillingham, 83, died June 13, 2015. Valma was born in Anson Co, NC to the late, Lyndon and Tossie Williams Griggs. She was a member of Great Bridge UMC, had been an active member of the Methodist Women and enjoyed working with ceramics.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 59 years, Bobby Dillingham; children, Bryan Dillingham (Sherry) of Chesapeake, Brenda Vaughan (Alan) of Chesapeake, and Robert Dillingham (Patricia) of Suffolk; siblings, Polly Garris and Myrlie Wallace of Wadesboro, NC; grandchildren, Brandy, Crystal (Ben), Shelby, Christian, and Annie; and a host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Great Bridge UMC on Tuesday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the church on Wednesday at 11:00am with Pastors Tim Craig and Amanda Webber officiating. Burial will follow at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Great Bridge UMC Memorial Fund. Condolences may be expressed to the family atwww.altmeyerfh.com.

Bobby and Family: Allan and I want to express our sincere sympathies to you and your family. Valma was a sweet lady and I will miss pushing her chair in to church and getting her in the ʺcorrectʺ pew each week. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and in the weeks to come.
