Ty was born in New York City, NY to Ronald Horne & Joan Acosta on June 8, 1960. Ty loved everything to do with sports. Baseball, tennis, golf, but his true love was basketball. Not only did he love basketball, but he was an amazing player. Another passion for Ty was music.  He loved any and all types. He always had the best set for listening and used it as a  way for him to bring all his friends together. He was loved by many and he never knew a stranger. Ty will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish his loving memory is baby sister Lynn Louis; parents, Ronald and Joan; many members of his extended family and friends.
Ty’s visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31 from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM with his funeral service immediately following at Altmeyer Funeral Home Southside Chapel (5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462)

What a perfect way to describe Tyrone – as a gentle giant. What a kind person, what a genuinely good human being. My condolences to my classmate – his sister Lynn – an equally awesome person. My thoughts and prayers to his parents and family.

Life is our greatest gift that God has given us. Death may be our only bridge back to eternal life and into our loving father’s arms. Certainly, heaven is rejoicing now, for another Angel has finally reached his true home.

Ty, Rest In Peace My Brother! You were a friend from when we first till the end! We shared a lot of good times on the court, in the attic listening to music and riding around with Phil in the city. Glad that we stayed in touch even when you moved to Va. Never had a bad word to say about you cause you were just cool that way. Miss you brother but will never forget you!

Ty words can’t express the loss I feel now that you have transitioned & you have been given your wings! I will forever love you! You were my protector, the best big brother a sister could ask for. You never got mad at me when I would go up in your room and play music on your stereo system, you would come home & say “just dont scratch my records & I would say ok Ty I wont! Then you would sit & we would listen to music together & you would let me play what I wanted to hear, thanks Ty for loving me always no matter what! I promise to take care of mommy, she took it hard but she is being strong, so please continue to watch over us, we love & miss you, see you on the other side. Forever in our hearts!❤❤
