Theresa Marie Bramwell, 72, of Chesapeake, passed away September 12, 2022. Theresa was born November 21, 1949, in Clinton, Iowa, to the late Joseph and Mary Graf. 

Theresa was an avid bingo player. She would go every week with her sister, Julie, and mother. She collected angels and had them all around her home. Theresa was a profound poet, having had some of her poetry published in books. Theresa was a God-fearing woman and was deeply devoted to her faith. Her favorite flowers were red roses. 

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; husband Terry; sister Linda; and great-nephew Joshua Smith.

Theresa is survived by her son Chris Graf; sisters Julie Meacom, of Chesapeake, and Marilyn Leighton (Steve) of Maine; nieces Sherry Smith, Dana Meacom-Dillon (John) of Chesapeake, Missy Graf, of Maryland, Cindy Deschene, of Maine; nephew Nicholas Deschene, of Maine; grandsons Christopher James Lewis, Jonah Joshua Graf, and Jaxon Christopher Graf; and great-nephews Brandon Meacom and RJ Noyes. 

A visitation for Theresa will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Altmeyer Funeral Home – Chesapeake, 929 Battlefield Blvd S. Chesapeake, Virginia, 23322. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Moyock Memorial Cemetery, 230 Caratoke Highway, Moyock, NC 27958.

Dorthea, I will always hold a special place in my heart for you. You definitely made an impact on me and everyone you met. Your kindness was a major attribute to your legacy. You will not only be remembered for your kindness, but for your penmanship and perfect poetry!
