Theresa Lynn Ward, 50, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle February 12, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born in New Albany, Indiana to the late Raymond J. and Theresa M. Burres Receveur and served her country honorably in the U.S. Navy. Theresa enjoyed photography, gardening, quilting and sewing, and listening to music ranging from hard rock in her early years, but more recently contemporary gospel and country. Her greatest passion and enjoyment in life however, was her family.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, James B. Ward, Jr.; sons, James Ward, III, and Timothy Ward; sisters, Connie Mefford, Sandy Jacobi, and Patty Campbell; brothers; David, Joey, and Mike Receveur; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held Thursday, February 18, 2016 at St. Matthews Catholic Church at 12:00pm with burial to follow at Albert G. Horton Vet. Memorial Cemetery. A wake will be Wednesday, February 17, from 6-8pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Rd. Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Please visit www.AltmeyerFH.com to offer a note of condolence to the family.
