Susan Dolores Schroeder, age 70, passed away on January 5, 2023 in Norfolk, Virginia. Susan was born in Virginia, December 10, 1952 to Bailey and Emma (Vian) Jones.
She resided in the Hampton Roads area for most of her life and attended Lake Taylor High School. Susan married Petty Officer First Class Lawrence Schroeder in 1983 and they raised three daughters. She enjoyed her career as a bookkeeper and homemaker. She had a love of reading, gardening, and crocheting.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her brothers Robert Sawyer and Bradley Sawyer. She is survived by her husband Lawrence Schroeder; three daughters: Angela Brumfield (Scot), Stephanie Heath (Coby), and Carin Meadows (Brandon); one grandson, Cameron Meadows; siblings: Kathy Christensen, Bailey Jones Jr (Phyllis), Daniel Jones (Gina), and Laurie Jones.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Karolwood Gardens of Norfolk for the generous care and consideration they showed to Susan and her family.
Please join Susan’s family for a memorial gathering in her honor on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Altmeyer Funeral Home Southside Chapel 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 from 5:00-7:00pm.
