Stephen Craig Ericson Jr., born on February 20, 1984, entered eternal rest on September 10, 2023, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend to many, leaving behind a legacy of love and inspiration. Stephen was 39 years old at the time of his passing.
Born in Virginia, Stephen brought joy and laughter to his family from the very beginning. His bright smile and compassionate nature endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Throughout his life, Stephen pursued his passions with unwavering determination, always striving to make the most of every opportunity that came his way.
Stephen’s professional journey led him to become a respected tow truck driver at West Side Towing, where he served his community with diligence and expertise. His commitment to excellence and helping others was evident in every aspect of his work, bringing comfort and relief to those in need during difficult times.
Outside of work, Stephen found solace in various interests that brought him immense joy. He had a deep love for fishing, surfing, and spending time in nature, where he found peace and serenity. As a skilled craftsman and marksman, Stephen always delighted in mastering new skills and sharing his knowledge with others. He was also a talented cook, whose delicious meals brought smiles to the faces of family and friends alike.
Stephen’s love for his family knew no bounds. He cherished every moment spent together, and his greatest joy was teaching them how to fish, passing down his passion for the great outdoors to the next generation. His nurturing spirit and unwavering support will forever serve as a guiding light for those he leaves behind.
Stephen is preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Ericson, and his paternal grandparents, Richard and Phyllis Ericson, as well as his maternal grandparents, Jay P. Clymer Jr., and Jeanette Clymer. Although our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in knowing that Stephen is now reunited with his loved ones in eternal peace.
He leaves behind his devoted parents, Stephen and Julia Ericson, his loving sister Joy Nice, brother Timothy Ericson, and a host of adoring aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom were blessed to have shared in Stephen’s life and treasured his unwavering love and support.
Services to celebrate Stephen’s life will be held as follows: A visitation will take place on Saturday, September 30, at 5 PM, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home Southside Chapel. Funeral services will commence at 6 PM, followed by a reception to honor Stephen’s memory.
