Sherri Kerrigan, born on August 24, 1961, in Muncie, Indiana, peacefully passed away on July 24, 2023, in Norfolk, Virginia. She was 61 years old at the time of her unexpected departure from this world.

Sherri dedicated her life to serving others through her work as a nurse at Chesapeake Correctional Facility. Her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to caring for those in need touched the lives of many. Sherri’s dedication to her profession was truly remarkable, and her impact will be felt for years to come.

She pursued her education with great determination, earning a Bachelor of Nursing degree from the University of Massachusetts. The knowledge and skills she gained throughout her academic journey undoubtedly contributed to her ability to provide exceptional care to her patients.

Sherri’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of her loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bridget (Mae) (Cheney) Kerrigan and Ronald Kerrigan. She is survived by her children, Jena Llyod and Jonathan Kerrigan and her siblings Ronald Kerrigan, Shawn Kerrigan, Shannon Pettis, Kelly Kerrigan, and Staci Hiergesell. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who were fortunate to have been touched by her love and kindness.

To honor Sherri’s memory and celebrate her life, a memorial service will be held on August 26, 2023. This gathering will be a time for family and friends to come together, sharing stories and memories that highlight Sherri’s beautiful spirit and the positive impact she had on those around her.

Sherri Kerrigan will always be remembered for her selflessness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to caring for others. May her legacy inspire us all to be compassionate and to make a difference in the lives of those we meet.

Sherri was definitely family oriented. We were supposed to meet up but it never happened ☹️.
I will miss you dearly, but you will always be in my heart and on my mind.
