Sandie Allred Woodard, born to the late John and Mary Allred on April 19, 1944, in Richmond, Virginia. And peacefully passed away on July 14, 2023, in Chesapeake, Virginia while surrounded by her family. With a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to others, Sandie touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Throughout her blessed years, Sandie exuded a selfless and compassionate nature that she wholeheartedly shared with everyone she encountered. Her career as a phlebotomist and her fulfilling role as a homemaker and mother allowed her to constantly exhibit her nurturing spirit.
Always placing others above her own needs, Sandie embodied the true essence of selflessness and served as an unwavering pillar of support for those around her. She had a heart overflowing with love and found joy in brightening the lives of others. Running the roads with her friends to check on the sick and elderly demonstrated her commitment to making the world a better place, one act of kindness at a time.
Sandie’s life was enriched by her beloved husband, Barry Alden Woodard, who has journeyed ahead. Together, they built a foundation of love, strength, and unwavering devotion. Their love story exemplified the meaning of true partnership and left an indelible mark on both their lives.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving sons, James M. Woodard and wife Laurie, and Kevin A. Woodard. Sandie’s legacy of love extends through her six grandchildren, her five great-grandchildren, and countless extended family members and friends. Her impact on their lives will forever be cherished and remembered.

So sorry to read of Sandy’s passing. I was thinking about her just the other day. She was an inspirational force at the DePaul laboratory and Hospital. Her kindness will be missed by all who knew her.
