Beloved Mother and Wife
Salud G. “Ludy” Wolfe
June 24, 1943 – December 11, 2022
Salud G. “Ludy” Wolfe has left this earthly realm away peacefully December 11, 2022, after her battle with multiple illnesses and liver cancer. She was 79 years old. It would be wrong to say
that Salud lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined, she laughed, danced and would make sure you would never go hungry.
When anyone else would have broken, Salud stayed strong. She maintained a positive attitude with a beautiful smile throughout her illness and showed more concern for her husband and daughters than for herself.
Salud is survived by her partner in life, devoted husband William and her two lovely daughters Marianne and Maria. She also leaves her cherished family in the Republic of the Philippines.
Salud has altruistically given for the needs of her family and friends, near and far with their well-being and best interest at heart. Many people considered Salud as their surrogate mother
and earned her name as “Miss Ludy” or “Momma Wolfe”.
When Salud’s children were young, the phrase “stay-at-home-mom” didn’t exist. It was usual for women to stay home with the children while their husbands worked. But even by the standards of the era, Salud was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. Salud’s passion was taking care of her husband, home and raising her children. She pride’s herself in her green thumb and gardening and most of all, cooking for family and friends. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no one quite like Salud. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight.
“For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the
night, but joy comes with the morning.”
– Psalm 30:5
Auntie Ludie
Joyful, kind, loving and generous. Thank you for being such a Light in this world. Even from miles away your presence is felt. I appreciate being a witness to the love and joy you shared with your Family and all those you came in contact with. You filled many bellies and nourished so many hearts. To my Uncle Bubby, Marianne and Lynn… we love you and embrace you with comfort and compassion.
Meeting Ms. Ludy was meeting the definition of love and kindness. Her zest for life make us feel blessed and grateful for the opportunity to meet and get to know her. It’s hard to imagine not hearing her voice with her daughter on the phone, or new stories about new memories made. We may not have been afforded a lot of time with her over the years, but the impact of her warmth and passion for those she cared about will live on in our hearts forever.
My condolences to Mr. Wolfe, her daughters and the extended family. Ms. Ludy’s legacy lives on in all of you. We pray for your healing and continued blessings.
Family, just know that Love is the only gift in life that lives Eternally; and know that the day will come when Ludy’s Love will be what you think of and her Smile and Laughter will be what you remember.
Dear Aunt Ludy
Thank you so much for a lifetime of bringing care and joy to those around you, whether they be near or far.
I’m greatfull that all I have to remember is pat’s on my back, hugs, food and laughter in any interaction with, who she allowed me to address as, Mom; a title I used sparingly, truthfully… only with Mrs. Ludy and my Mother. Sad knowing that I won’t see her physically with my next visit to Virginia, and most greatfull her spirit is with us all. Thank God for memories and recognizing her spirit, as with all ancestors, as guidance and protection., are with me, us …
