Sadako Tu Winning, of Chesapeake, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the age of 76 years with her husband of 43 years by her side. She was born on May 1, 1941 in Aguni-Son, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan to Masayuki Uezu and Mitsuko Tamayose. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Mr. Richard Winning; son Samuel Winning and his wife Serena; daughter Cynthia Murphy and her husband Brian; grandchildren Brandon and Connor; brother Hirotoshi Uezu; sister Chiyoko Miyagi; sister Yukiko Yamada; and many, many extended relatives and friends.
Visitation for Sadako will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Southside Chapel (5792 Greenwich Rd., Virginia Beach, VA) from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Soka Gakkai International (5476 Virginia Beach Blvd #100, Virginia Beach, VA) at 1:00 PM.
