Ruth Ann Chandley, 83, passed away peacefully in Virginia Beach on March 24. A native of Greeneville, she settled in Hampton Roads with her high school sweetheart and husband of 64 years, William G. “Bill” Chandley, Jr., a retired Navy Master Chief who passed away on January 12th of this year.
Ann was a successful REALTOR for over four decades and well known in the Hampton Roads real estate community. She loved helping people realize the dream of home ownership. Ann held a real estate broker’s license and was active in her church for many years. She had a warm smile, generous heart, and infectious laugh.
She is predeceased by her parents, George H. Lowe and Mary Ruth (Harmon) Lowe and brother, George H. Lowe, Jr. She is survived by two sisters, Martha Jane Hensley of Greeneville, TN and Shirley Ashley and her husband J.D. of Mohawk, TN as well as her sons Nick Chandley and his wife Lisa of Virginia Beach, Nathan Chandley and his wife Laura of Toano; three grandchildren, Nicole, Trevor, and Heather; and one great grandson, Hayden. She loved her family and being able to spend time with her grandchildren. Ann was a wonderful mother and fiercely loyal to her family.
Ann will be laid to rest with Bill at the Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia on April 6th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Alzheimer’s organization of your choice.

I loved Ann like family. She took me under her wing & loved me too! She was generous with her knowledge & herself. She was a seasoned professional & a hell of a friend. She will be missed by so many!
