Robert G. Hayes, 76, of Virginia Beach passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022 at his home.
Known to many as “Purple” Hayes, he was born February 25, 1946 a son of the late George and Katherine Moe Hayes.
He was a former survey technician with NOAA and he thoroughly enjoyed riding his Harley and deer hunting. He never met a stranger.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Hayes; sons, Rob Hayes (Kathy) of Fort Ashby, WV and Jay Calfee of Virginia Beach; sisters, Tudy Frye of Warrington, VA, Susan Hayes of Catlet, VA; brother, Bill Hayes (Christine) of Front Royal, VA; grandchildren, Ashley Waechter (Mark), Shelby Hayes (Jimmy), Kierstin VonHagel, Karissa Collett and Cody Collett as well as five great-grandchildren.
