Rendering of Military Honors and Interment

Richard Alan Lawson, 62, went to heaven after a courageous battle with ALS on March 4, 2017.  Rick was born in Independence, KS to Denny and Kathaleen Lawson.  He retired from the United States Navy, as a Lieutenant Commander after 30 years of service.
Rick is predeceased by his mother.  Left to cherish his memory is his wife Darla; three sons, Jimmy (Sara), Curtis (Ashley) and Scott; his father; sister Vickie (Bill); brother, David; six grandchildren plus one on the way and a host of extended family and dear friends.
Family will receive guests Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 929 S. Battlefield Blvd. from 6pm-8pm.  A celebration of life will be held for Rick on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Apostles Lutheran Church, 370 Johnstown Road, Chesapeake Virginia.  Interment will be at Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Rd. in Suffolk, Virginia.

Darla: I am so sorry for your loss. You and Rick were an inspiration, your constant care of him and his always pleasant countenance. Your love was so apparent. I pray that memories of the good, healthy times will comfort you and your family.
