The Rev. William Grady Beagle went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday morning November the 2nd, 2023. William was born July the 27th, 1943 to Paul and Hazel Beagle in Washington County, Virginia. As a child, William, known as Peck, spent his childhood running through the mountains in Saltville, VA creating mischief around every corner with his cousins and partner in crime, his cousin Leon. The family moved to South Norfolk for better career opportunities. While in high school, William worked as a pin boy at the local bowling alley and graduated from Oscar Smith High School in 1963.

William got a job at United States Gypsum Company right out of high school where he worked for more than 35 years. His professional friends knew him as Bill. Bill held many positions throughout his career and retired as a purchasing agent.

William became the church youth leader and met his soul mate Elizabeth, the church pianist, with the voice of an angel. William (WG) and Elizabeth were married May 6th, 1972, and just celebrated 51 years of marriage in May. Shortly after the wedding, WG felt the call to preach. The combination with his calm demeaner, Elizabeth’s musical talents and their strong work ethic were the foundation to a long successful ministry.

William was ordained by the Pentecostal Free will Baptist denomination around 1982. Shortly after, Rev. William Beagle was asked to preach at Faith Temple church in Norfolk, VA and was voted in as the permanent pastor where he remained to this day. For more than 40 years he devoted his life to our Lord, his family and the Faith Temple Church. Rev. Beagle served on the board of directors for the P.F.W.B, ministerial board and was the head of the Virginia district for many years.

William’s love and devotion for his faith, family, and his zest for life carried him through life.

Reverend William Grady Beagle is predeceased by his parents Paul and Hazel Beagle, brother Donald Beagle, son Bobby Beagle (Holly) and his “Buddy” grandson Josh Beagle.

Those who are left to cherish his memory are his wife Eugenia Elizabeth Beagle, brother Harold Beagle (Francis), son William Journigan (Maggy), daughter Dana Beavers (Randy) and son Paul Beagle (Jennifer), grandchildren: Michael, Brittney, Hannah, Sam, Aidan, and Tucker, great grandchildren: Spike, Gavin, Sirrus, Violet and many family members and friends.

A visitation will be held at Altmeyer funeral home Thursday November 9th, at 11:00am. The funeral will be held November 9th at 12:00 pm at 929 Battlefield Blvd. Chesapeake, VA 23322. A graveside service will be held immediately following the service at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens, 524 Cedar RD. Chesapeake, VA 23322. Please come and visit with the family at Faith Temple Church 1173 Geroge St. Norfolk, VA. 23502 following the grave side service.
