The Rev. Robert Gerald Moran, affectionately known as Jerry, passed away on October 2, 2023, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 76. He was born on March 15, 1947, in Alexandria, Virginia, to his loving parents, Robert and Alice Moran.
Jerry led a life dedicated to serving others and spreading the word of God. He was the Founder of the Rock Church in Baltimore, Maryland, where he touched the lives of countless individuals through his teachings and guidance. Additionally, Jerry worked as a counselor, focusing on helping those struggling with substance abuse, providing them with the support and encouragement they needed to overcome their challenges.
Music held a special place in Jerry’s heart, and he expressed his passion through playing the clarinet in the Groveton High School band and the saxophone in the Navy Band.
Jerry was preceded in death by both his parents Robert & Alice Moran and his niece Alicia Gill.
Left to cherish his loving memory is survived by his son, Joel Robert Moran, who will forever cherish the memories they shared. Jerry also leaves behind his loving granddaughter, Samantha B. Moran, who brought immense happiness into his life. His sister, Nancy M. Gill, and her husband Keith, along with his nephew, Jason Robert Gill, and his wife Kara, his great-nieces, Ally and Emma.
Services to honor Jerry’s life will be held privately at a later date.
Jerry’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his memory will continue to inspire and guide us. May he rest in peace.
