Raymond J. Boyd, born on July 19, 1946, in East Orange, New Jersey, departed from this world on December 9, 2023, in Norfolk, Virginia. He was 77 years old at the time of his passing.
Raymond led a remarkable life, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service. He was a proud service member of the United States Army and after many years of hard work, he eventually retired and was able to enjoy the fruits of his labor.
Throughout his life, Raymond was an active member of the Catholic community. He also held memberships in various organizations, including the VFW Post 392 Auxiliary, Ole Bastards, and the Dart team of VFW Post 392. His involvement in these groups showcased his sense of camaraderie and the importance he placed on belonging to a supportive community.
Raymond’s loved ones will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. He is survived by his devoted spouse of three years, Maria Cassidy Boyd. Additionally, he leaves behind his step-daughter, Melinda Cassidy Dane, and step-sons, Christopher Cassidy and Edward Cassidy Jr. His sisters, Joanne (Bobby) Hartland and Beverly Murgatroyd, will hold his memory close to their hearts.
