Raymond Freeman Jr. (Buggy) 73 transition peacefully at his home Wednesday January 12, 2022. He was born on October 5, 1948 in Halifax, North Carolina, to the late Raymond L. and Dorothy Mae (Byrd) Freeman. Raymond is predeceased by his brothers Tyrone & Princeton Freeman.
Raymond graduated from I. C. Norcom High School (Portsmouth, Virginia), Class of 1966. Following his graduation, he served proudly in the United States Airforce from 1966 -1970 and the United States Navy from 1978 -1980. Raymond received several certificates during his time in service. In the United States Airforce, he received a Certificate for an Extension Course as a cook 1967, a Traffic Safety Certificate 1967, a Certificate of Recognition from the Aerospace Defense Command for outstanding participation 1968, a Certificate of Appreciation from the Commander in Chief (Richard Nixon). He also received a Certificate from The Civil Defense Agency for Radiological Monitoring 1968, a Certificate from the Washington School of Art for a course in Fine and Commercial Art 1969. He completed a Course of Instruction at the Institute of Applied Science for Scientific Crime Detection 1969 and lastly a Certificate for Professional Tractor Trailer Driving from Ryder School 1972. Raymond was Baptized on November 2, 1966 at Ebenezer Baptist Church Portsmouth, Virginia. Raymond was a disable veteran. He never married or fathered any children.
Raymond leaves to cherish the memory of two brothers, Samuel and Frederick Freeman, sisters, Angela Thrash, Helen, Lois, and Mildred Freeman all of Portsmouth, Virginia, along a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
