On July 31, 2023, our dear loved one, Pierre Ramone Dokes departed this life. Pierre was born on June 21, 1977, to Costella Beck and the late Jerry Dokes, Jr. He graduated from Salem High School in Virginia Beach, VA. Then attended Tidewater Community College for two semesters and attended Norfolk State University for one semester. He worked at Princess Anne Country Club-Breakers and The Capo Capo, Waterside Marriott.

Pierre was an amazing person and touched all who knew him. He was kind and thoughtful; extroverted, positive, and full of enthusiasm…Jokester. He loved sports-Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Portland Trail Blazers who he named his dog after.

Pierre loved to cook. Chicken was his favorite. Without any formal schooling in culinary arts, he diligently put forth the effort to learn what he loved to do. He cooked and grilled not only at his job, but for his family, neighbors, and friends. Nothing went to waste; but he was not fond of deserts.

He loved trivia, was a writer of poetry (Published author) who was enamored with words-a wordsmith and used words to express himself like an artist using images to communicate information.

Pierre was a member of The Soka Gakkai International (SGI-USA) which practice the teachings of Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism. As a result of his practice, his focus in life changed where he began to value life, self, and others positively and through his practice, allowed him to strengthen his family relationships. But most importantly, he began to embrace obstacles as a growth opportunity.

He is predeceased by his brother Maurice Thompson, Jr. (Junie). Left to cherish his memory was his wife, Cyrinda Martucci, his mother, Costella Beck, stepfather, Leroy Beck ; Aunt, Joyce Bell; sisters, Angela Williams and Trina Beck-Spainhour; brother, Donald Beck (Eskalina); three nieces, two nephews, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

As we celebrate his life, we must not forget, but remember the true feeling of joy and love he spread throughout his lifetime.
