Paul Otto Holecek, of Virginia Beach, entered Eternal Life on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the age of 67 years. Paul was born on January 22,1950 to Otto Joseph Holecek and Margaret Ouska Holecek in Oak Park, Illinois. For many years, he proudly served His Country in the US Navy doing several tours in Japan, Vietnam, and the Philippines, performing mine assembly and submarine tracking, among other duties. He had a great sense of humor and could quickly come up with a joke for any occasion. As his health began to fail, Paul nonetheless spent his last few years helping other Navy veterans in need.
Left to cherish his memory with much pride are his brother Thomas Holecek and his wife Sylvia Holecek; sister Hillary (Holecek) Richardson and her husband Mark Richardson; nieces, nephews, many cousins, and friends.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church (126 Herrick Rd. Riverside, IL) on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM.
