Paul Arnold Fite Jr. USN (retired), 82, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Beloved Husband, Father, and Papa.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Linda. Daughters, Beth and Amy. Special son-in-law, Brian. Granddaughters, Ella and Audrey. His sister, Wilma.
He grew up in Maysville, Kentucky and is a great example of perseverance. He proudly joined the military at the age of 17. He served in both the Army and the Navy. He bravely served 3 tours in Vietnam.
Paul loved Jesus and his family more than anything.
Once settled in Virginia Beach, Paul found a home church and took classes after work at the local Bible College. He loved sharing his love of the Lord with everyone. He could also be found in church handing out peppermints to all, which continued outside of church and he always had peppermints in his pocket to hand to anyone he came in contact with. He loved to spread joy. He loved to joke with everyone and make people laugh. You could always count on him to pull a good prank. He loved to read the Bible and give people verses he thought they’d love or need. Paul loved westerns, coffee, feeding all the wildlife, late night snacks of cheese and crackers with Dr. Pepper, and he especially loved his granddogs and grandcats.
His family will miss his laughter, his stories, and his willingness to always be there to protect them and pray with them and for them.
Paul would want you to know that Jesus Loves You!
Love and prayers to your entire family. I know that each of you had a special place in Paul’s heart. May your fond memories of his love help you find peace and comfort in the days ahead.
