Patricia Anne “Patty” Davis, 71, of Virginia Beach, passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2022. Patty was born in Elmhurst, Illinois on August 18, 1950, to the late Franklin and Phyllis (Kemper) Kalk.

Patty owned and operated her own business as a licensed professional counselor in Virginia Beach for the last 30 years. She was a very active member of Old Donation Episcopal Church, where she was a member of both the Daughters of the King and the Cursillo Community, a Healing Minister, and would lend a helping hand whenever and wherever it was needed.

Patty lived her faith every day. She was devoted to purposeful prayers, and many relied on them when they were experiencing adversity.  If she discovered someone in need, she helped them, confidentially and unpretentiously.  As a professional counselor in Virginia Beach, her talents were utilized by the Juvenile Prison System, and many young people found their lives improved through her efforts.  In her private practice, she helped countless people change their outlooks from despair to hope and from sorrow to joy.  She was blessed with a God-given talent and was wise enough to use it to help those most in need.

If you are lucky enough to have called Patty your sister, aunt, niece, friend, or colleague, then you experienced her edgy sense of humor, her loyalty, her love, and her infectious enthusiasm for life.  And if you shared her love of the Green Bay Packers, then you got extra credit.  All these endearing traits will be sorely missed by everyone who knew Patty.

Other than her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her husband John Davis, niece Linda Jane Carroll, and brother-in-law Roland Bean.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her siblings Norma Jane Carroll (James), Lynn Marie Bean, Franklin Kalk Jr (Amanda Tann); nieces Anne Hepburn (T.J.) and Miriam Kalk (Calvin Hu); nephew Sam Kalk (Anna Nichols); and many more extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Old Donation Episcopal Church, Virginia Beach, with reception immediately following.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Seaton Youth Shelters (Virginia Beach), Hope House Foundation (Norfolk), or Old Donation Episcopal Church.
