Patricia Ann Perry

November 12, 1946 - September 16, 2023

11/12/1946 - 09/16/2023

Patricia Ann Perry, age 76, passed peacefully in home hospice on 16 Sep 2023 with her son Patrick and daughter Sherry Ann by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Born 12 Nov 1946 in Westerly, RI, she was predeceased by her parents Ann and Alexander Newing, Jimmy Perry her husband of 44 years, and her sister Kathy. Patty is survived by sisters Sherry and JoAnn, her brother Ted, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Patty was the epitome of a hardworking mother and devoted wife. She was blessed with endurance and a firm sense of fairness. She worked various jobs in service support fields and formerly co-owned the Blue Crab restaurant in Ocean View area of Norfolk. Patty loved museums and dragonflies, was sharp of wit, loved life, and saw humor that others missed. As a humble and private person, she requested no funeral. A quiet family oriented celebration of life may be planned in the distant future. Her favorite charity was Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Condolences may be left for the family below.

To My Mom and Virginia Family
A beautiful tale of our forever loved, remembered and missed Patty. My thoughts and heart goes out to all of you, my Mom, Sherry, Uncle Ted, Aunt Joann, Cousins Sherry Ann and Patrick. I love all of you and when I’m saddened by Aunt Pattys’ absence from our lives, I will focus on how lucky we all were to have had such a genuine person in our lives. I am grateful for the moments I had a chance to share with Patty and wish there had been more time. I love you Aunt Patty.

Patrick and Sherry,
We had the privilege to spend time with Patty when she visited family on the west coast and were always struck by what a remarkable person she was. It was always a pleasure to spend time with her because her kind, gentle and playful nature brought happiness to others. She truly made the world a better place to live in and are so grateful to have known her.

Patrick and Sherry,
No matter how long we have on this earth it always seems too short for the good people who come into your life. Although we have not been close in later life, I have many fond memories of both your Mom & Dad. They both will be greatly missed. I will keep you and all your family in my thoughts and prayers. May she rest in eternal peace.
Love and Prayers,
Krissann

Patty had a profound effect on my life. She was always there, when no one else was. She treated me like I was her own. Throughout my lifetime, she was always forgiving, supportive and fun to be around. There are several memories over the 50 plus years of knowing her that puts a smile on my face.. I was fortunate enough to have celebrated; countless birthdays and holidays with her family and friends. She will forever be etched in my heart.
