Pamela Johnson Lawton passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023 in Norfolk VA surrounded by her loving family. Pam was born 19 October 1946 to Elton and Nonie Johnson in Norfolk. She was a graduate of Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach and at­tended ODU.

Professionally, Pam worked a number of years as an Executive Assistant, work that included the U.S. House of Representatives and Commander Submarine Force Atlantic where she met her husband, Frank. They were married over 42 years and Pam served in the toughest job in the Navy as a Navy Wife, moving 13 times in 31 years. Pam was mother to Christopher and Alex and grandmother to Murphy, Everett, Lucy, Isaac, and Killian. She loved being a grandma, along with gardening, cooking, reading, and shopping. Having lived in Italy twice, she also loved going back on trips to visit her Italian friends. Her other love was her Catholic faith and her many friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Along with her husband Frank, Pam is survived by her sisters Helen and Priscilla, daughters-in-law Kate and Molly, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Peter and Mylene, nieces Cary, Leslie, Robin, and Jennifer, nephews John and Daniel, along with many cousins and friends. Her brother, Robert Johnson, predeceased her.

Visitation will be at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Dr, Virginia Beach on Tuesday, April 18, from 6-8 PM. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 154 w. Government Ave, Norfolk on Wednesday, April 19, at 11 :oo AM. Burial will be at Arlington National cemetery at a later date. Dear Frank and Family,

Pam became a treasured friend and I will sorely miss her. I am grateful for our Bible Study, where Marty and I got to know the Lawton family and shared many Monday nights together. You all remain in our prayers.
