Orion K. Irelan

Orion K. Irelan went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2017. He had the honor of serving our country in the U.S. Army and Air Force where he completed a tour in Korea. Orion loved his job as a lab tech where he quickly excelled and also loved to travel from place to place. He attended Azalea Baptist Church on Little Creek Rd in Norfolk. Orion was very generous and always helped those who were less fortunate. He was predeceased by his parents, Rayman E. and Lena M. Irelan; ex-wife Betty R. Irelan; sister, Lola M. Irelan; son, John K. Irelan and daughter Lisa Marie Irelan.
Orion leaves to cherish his memories; sister, Ruth I. Jordan; daughters, Ruth Simmons (Rob) of Alexandria, VA and Jennifer Pogue (David) of Portage, MI; granddaughters, Rachel Simmons, Rebecca Poppe (Megan) and Molly Hardy; step granddaughter, Molly Adelsbach and her mother Frances Simmons; grandson, Reid Simmons (Nicole) of Woodbridge, VA; great grandson, Archer Ray Orion Hardy; great granddaughters, Cecile Simmons and Lucy Hardy. Orion is a wonderful and kind man who will be sorely missed by all who love him. A memorial service will be held, 12pm, Friday, February 3, 2017 in Albert G. Horton Veteran Cemetery.
