Nicole Nash

May 14, 1976 - October 1, 2022

05/14/1976 - 10/01/2022

Nicole Nash transitioned peacefully on October 1, 2022 while surrounded by her loving family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Shelia Nash and her most loved pit bull named Angel Nash.

Nicole was born in Virginia and attended school at Bayside. She then went on to conquer the world of cosmetology. She was even recognized as one of the top colorists in the whole country. Her journey as a stylist was incredibly impressive and after a 23 year career of styling hair alongside Al at Changes, the two ventured out on their own and she became the co-owner of Alfred Kelly Salon in Virginia Beach.

Motivating others came easy to Nicole. She would be the encouraging voice to anyone and everyone. She was genuinely kind with kind words but will give it to you the real way 100%. She was honest and true to herself.

Her compassion for others crossed into every other species that she encountered. From saving the sea turtles, to feeding the feral cats, bringing home stale bread for her feathered friends, and even feeling heartache for an injured bird in Paris. She cared deeply about every creature in her world.

Left to cherish the memories Nicole has left behind is her son Izaiah Moses Nash; soul mate of 30 years Danyell Wilder; cousin Dawn (Edward) Cason; business partner Al Kelly, mother-in-law Belinda Allen; her much loved pit Zeuss; close friends Rachel and Atoosa; along with countless other relatives, friends, and clients that will forever love her.

A memorial service will be held for Nicole at 4:00 PM on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Altmeyer Funeral Home 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462 and will be followed by a reception.

To honor the beautiful life of Nicole Nash, memorial donations can be made to The Sea Turtle Foundation by clicking HERE.

Nicole took me under her wing and not only taught me how to be a hair stylist but also helped me to grow up. She was also there to listen and give advice. She cared with her whole heart. She became a part of everyone that knew her. She was a good person and I am so grateful to have known her. She changed my life.

I would like to share a story that speaks to the kindness and caring gifts Nicole shared with so many people. Nicole made a house call to cut my Dad’s hair. He had undergone hip replacement and was unable to go to the local barber so Nicole came to him. Love to Danny, Isaiah family and friends.

I adored Nicole and was absolutely gutted to learn of her passing today. She was my hairstylist, and friend, for many years. Even after moving away from Tidewater, I traveled two hours to get my hair done every few months just to continue to share laughs with her. She always had great stories and advice, I just loved everything about her. Much love to Danny, Isaiah and Al. Nicole loved you so much. She will be missed greatly.

You were in my life since I was 19 (proudly one of your very first clients), 26 years of shared stories, big family life moments, laughs, and advice. Tears and heartache have filled the last few days. Both my girls and I will miss you dearly. I cant imagine not being able to “just text Nicole and ask” or say ” I am not worried about silver hair, Nicole will make it beautiful as I get older”. You made everything beautiful. You were one of a kind. You were part of our family. Our deepest sympathies Dany, Izaiah and Al. Rest in Peace Nicole. We love you. Monica, Molly & Allie Rathbun
