I am so sorry to read of my friend Millie passing. I met her when we were in 9th grade at St. Mary’s High School. I was only there for 3 months, and then I went to boarding school in England, although my parents lived in Manhasset. When I came home for the holidays, Millie and I would get together. I spent many happy sleepovers with her family and I remember her brother Al, he was so kind to me too. Goodness, it was so many years ago, Millie, Al and I saw the movie Kramer vs. Kramer together. Both MIllie, Al and I wrote letters to each other when I was away in boarding school. I have kept everyone of them and I have beautiful photos of Millie and I as teenagers. I’m so sorry we somehow lost touch. MIllie will always be close to me in my heart, I loved her so much! God bless and keep her and her family in His shelter of love.

My sincere condolences to Millie’s family. I met Millie at NNS years ago and we kept in touch after I retired. She was a wonderful, brave woman who suffered medical conditions valiantly for years – always with a positive attitude and cheerful manner. I will sorely miss her.

I’m so sorry to hear of Millie’s passing. I know she struggled for many years with her health. I remember the time we all went to Hooters (just for fun!) and I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Millie was our “customer” when she worked at Newport News Shipbuilding. It did not take long for Sue, Millie and I to realize we were “soul sisters”. Maybe it was our NY/NJ connection and the fact that our favorite color was black, but whatever it was, our friendship formed quickly and was still going strong. We enjoyed our visits to VA and bringing hard rolls and cannolis. We have so many happy memories of our friendship with Milie. She is forever in our hearts and we know she is now an angel who is with us always. Our prayers and condolences to Rich, her mother Emma and the whole family. With love, Sue Alvarez and Linda Messano
