Melvin Edward Manuel

Melvin Edward Manuel, 90, of Norfolk, VA went to be with the Lord peacefully on August 9, 2017.  He was surrounded by family.
Born in Norfolk, he was the son of the late Frank Peter Manuel and Beatrice (Mae) Manuel.  He was a graduate of Maury High School and VPI.  He was the co-owner of Bodner & Manuel, Inc. until he retired in 1998.
Mel was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He was an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and an avid golfer.
He was predeceased by his first wife Beverly K. Manuel, son Thomas Edward Manuel, brother Robert Manuel and granddaughter Kasey Ann Goodnoh.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years Anna Lee (Ann) Manuel, son Frank Peter Manuel (Laurie) daughters Kim M. Nozzarella (Dwayne), Anna Lee Long and daughter-in-law Kathleen Manuel; grandchildren, Jaime, Jenn, Chris, Ashley, Sarah, Andrew, Ben, Jack, Katie, Bekah as well as two bonus grandchildren, William and Lisa Cotten.  Also seven great grandchildren; brother, Lynwood Manuel (Joan), nieces nephews and faithful friends Bill and Betty Cotten and last but not least his Thursday golfing buddies.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 12th at 2:00 p.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 5767 Sellger Drive, Norfolk.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Aldersgate Church.
