Mary Eileen Clark, 89, went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 26, 1927 in Hampshire, England, a daughter of the late Selina Cooke and Edward Rickman.
Mary was a veteran of the Royal Air Force as well as a member of the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force. She was also a member of the American Gold Star Mothers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Clark and her son Michael Hopkins.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Gloria Berlind; 3 grandchildren, William Higgins, Michelle Higgins, and Michael Berlind; and 3 great grandchildren, Saige Higgins, Micah Higgins, and Aubrey Berlind.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2016, at 2 p.m., Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Rd., VA Beach.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Combat Wounded Coalition of Chesapeake, VA at https://combatwoundedcoalition.org. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.altmeyerfh.com.
