Mary Catherine Gray

January 15, 2024

Mary Catherine Gray (Kay) (1922-2024) went to be with her Lord and reunited with her husband on January 15, 2024. Raised in a small town in Pennsylvania, she was a wife, mother, grandmother, friend, business owner and adventurer.

During WWII, she was in the first group of women to join the Marine Corps and train at Hunter College in New York and boot camp at Cherry Point. She met and married her beloved husband who was in the Coast Guard. They settled in Norfolk, Virginia where they raised three children, and had five grandchildren scattered around the US. She opened a catering business and after her children were grown, traveled the world.

Finally, she settled into her last home at Westminster Canterbury on the Bay where she spent the reminder of her years. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Condolences may be left for the family online at
