And God shall wipe all tears from thine eyes;
And there shall be no more death; neither sorrow; nor crying;
Neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.
Revelations 21:4
Marvin Levester Hendricks, Jr. was born on March 18, 1981 to Judith Hendricks and Marvin Hendricks in Orange, New Jersey. He was a beloved son, father, and brother who touched the lives of many and passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the age of 42. He will be remembered fondly for his incredible spirit, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends.
He graduated from Granby High School in Norfolk, Virginia in 1999. His dream in life was to operate a bar that could be the home away from home for the friends he loved. Four years ago he accomplished that goal, managing the family restaurant in Virginia Beach, VA. His infectious smile, warm personality, and genuine care for others will forever be remembered by the patrons he served.
Marvin Hendricks will be dearly missed and forever cherished by his children, Jaquan Keller and Jordan Hendricks; his mother, Judith Hendricks; his father, Marvin Hendricks, Sr.; his sister, Lori Hendricks; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort and strength to all who mourn his loss.
You gave no one a last farewell,
You said goodbye to none,
The heavenly gates did open wide,
And a loving voice said “Come”.
God saw that you were suffering,
And the hills were hard to climb,
So He closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered, “Peace be thine.”
My Grandson Jaquan & the Hendrick Family, I was saddened to learn of the passing of your Dad, Son, and Brother, I pray for Father Jehovah to comfort you on your loss. Death is not extinguishing the light but putting out the lamp because dawn has come. Rejoice in the Word of the Author and Finisher of our Faith, that we will see our Loved ones again, and will know them as they were known. God Bless and keep each one of you in His Loving embrace!
I’m so sorry to hear about Marvin’s passing. To his mother, sister, father and children, my prayers are for peace, love and understanding during this difficult period.
