Martha Ferguson

Martha Ferguson passed away January 1,2022 in Virginia Beach, Martha was born in Brooklyn, NY to Margaret Ferguson and Richard “Dickie” Havens. She was a graduate of East New York High School. Martha worked with Nassau County Department of Social Services as a clerk until she retired. Martha enjoyed sewing, decorating, and crafting. Her granddaughter Sasha Frelow was her caregiver until the time of her passing.
Martha was preceded in death by both of her parents. She also has two sons (Kevin and Lawrence) and two daughters (Yvette and Delores) who preceded her in death. Four nieces and two nephews. Martha was the last of her siblings.
Surviving Martha’s passing are children, Victoria Word, of Okolona MS, Fredrick Ferguson of Fort Myers, FL, Cheryl Ferguson of Brentwood, NY and Chery Ferguson of Brooklyn, NY. She had seventeen grandchildren: Darius, Sasha, Mark Jr., Chenoa, Carena, Epiphany, Dawn, Fred Jr, N’Quay, Kyheem, LeAnne, Reese, Amelia et al. Forty-five great- grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren with a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews.    
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 2:00pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Southside Chapel 5033 Rouse Dr. Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
