Marshall “Bud” Coppedge, 72, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, was called home on December 28, 2015. He was predeceased by his parents Marshall and Nan Coppedge.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Julie Coppedge, daughter, Jenifer Stone and husband, Jonathan, son, Jimmy Coppedge and wife Kelly, grandsons, Jack and Austin Coppedge, granddaughters, Aurelia and Lila Stone, and sister, Faye Walker.
As a lifelong Virginia Beach resident, Bud enjoyed hunting and fishing every chance he got. In 1970 he attended a decoy show in Maryland and came home to start carving his own decoys. He carved duck decoys and collected old decoys for the rest of his life. He volunteered as a resident carver at the Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum at the DeWitt Cottage.
Bud retired as a Communications Supervisor for Virginia Beach Police, Fire and Rescue after 36 years of service. Bud was a member of Charity United Methodist Church in Pungo.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Charity United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Charity United Methodist Church or the Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum.
