Marsha Ellen Rice, 78, of Newport News, passed away on June 25, 2023.
The only child of William and Helen Rice, Marsha was born in Newport News during the Fall of 1944, and would call this area home her whole life. She was a proud graduate of Newport News High School forming strong friendships during those pivotal years and was still in touch with some of her classmates until her final days.
Ever the philanthropist, Marsha remains charitable even in death with donations set to be made to organizations and causes close to her heart, upon her passing.
She is preceded in death by parents William and Helen (Israelson) Rice. Marsha leaves behind many dear friends, who will surely miss her kind heart almost as much as they will miss her dry sense of humor.
Services are in the care of Altmeyer Funeral Homes – Riverside Chapel.
Marsha will be laid to rest at the Jewish Cemetery on the Virginia Peninsula on Wednesday July 12th at 1 pm.
