Marion Yvonne Goss

Marion Yvonne Goss was born in Knoxville, TN on February 4, 1942 as Marion Stewart.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She had four children, Garret Goss, Michael Goss, James Goss and JoAnn Goss. She also had seven grandchildren that were all very special to her. Christina Goss, Ashley Goss, Bethany Goss, Charles Spencer, Mia Rodriguez, James Tyson Goss and Ricco Goss. And one great granddaughter Zoey Carter.
Marion liked to go by Yvonne. She was a religious woman that loved Jesus. Growing up she always said that she was a tomboy. Her favorite game was Cowboys and Indians with her younger brother William Andrew Stewart. She was a big sister to Andrew, Quintin, and Jeffery. She loved her brothers and family very much. Her mother, Josephine Stewart was a talented seamstress. She would make Marion beautiful clothing that was like couture. Her father William Stewart was a brick mason and a true artist in his craft. Marion grew up in Washington DC. She went to Livingston College where her Grandfather was on the board. After a year of college she married James Goss. She worked for NASA briefly and also a research facility. They eventually settled into life in Northern Virginia where she was a devoted stay at home mom. She believed in helping anyone that needed it. She often would give her last dime to those she deemed  less fortunate. She did so with a pure heart and often said it is because it is what Jesus would do. She also would always say that you never know when you may encounter an angel unawares. She taught her family kindness.  She volunteered at her home church Shenandoah Valley Baptist Church. She led many people to Christ just by them seeing her lovely spirit and wanting to know what was behind it. Marion would take the time and very humbly explain who Christ was to her. She was very much loved and will be greatly missed by all that were blessed to have her in their lives.
Marion’s going home service will be in the springtime at her favorite beach. Her family will gather together wearing all white to celebrate the bright spirit that she was and the light that she brought into everyone’s life.
