Maria Lourdes Lagrama Donaldson went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 04, 2023. She passed away surrounded by her family in her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Maria was born to Agaton and Adoracion Lagrama (both deceased) in Bacolod City, Philippines on May 8th, 1968. Maria called many places home during her wonderful life, Guam, California and Italy to name a few, but Virginia was where she finally decided to lay down her roots. In Virginia was where she made some of her most lasting memories. Whether it was a spontaneous karaoke party at her house or a laughter-filled potluck gathering, she had a gift for turning ordinary occasions into unforgettable memories. Maria had a passion for cooking and delighted in treating her friends and family to her delicious homemade dishes. Maria will be remembered for her infectious laughter, warm smile, and kind-hearted nature. She had a way of brightening up any room she entered, leaving everyone uplifted and inspired. Her light-hearted spirit brought joy to her family, friends, and to know her was to love her.
Maria is survived by her former husband, Arthur Donaldson and their only child Angela Marie Donaldson. Her special friend who was a very important person in her life, Timothy Mckenny. Her two brothers, Hermongenes Lagrama and Agaton Lagrama Jr; and four sisters, Josephine Lagrama, Lilia Lagrama, Agapito Lagrama, Febe Lagrama; all of her siblings resided in her country of birth, Philippines. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and many other friends and family members that called her daughter and best friend.
Passionate about life, Maria embraced every moment with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. She had an incredible zest for exploring new places and seeking out exciting experiences. Whether it was trying out new restaurants, going on shopping sprees, immersing herself in different cultures, or embarking on spontaneous road trips, Maria was always up for an adventure.Though Maria is no longer with us, her spirit will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched. She leaves behind cherished memories that will be forever etched in the hearts of her family and friends. Rest in Peace Thy Good and Faithful Servant.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12th, 2023 at Altmeyer Funeral Home – Southside Chapel, 5033 Rouse Dr., Virginia Beach, VA 23462. The family will receive friends on at 4:00 PM, with a funeral service to begin at 5:00 PM. A repast will be held immediately following the funeral service at the Ruritan Club: 5146 Ruritan Court, Virginia Beach, 23462. . For those that would like to drop off a meal of comfort, the venue will be available as early as 3:00 PM.

Rest in peace boss… my most favorite supervisor ever! I will truly remember the good times. How loud we all were every lunch time, sharing food and all that with the rest of the team. Great boss, but an even better person. Thank you Maria for everything!
