Margie Ella Peden passed away on March 21, 2023, in Norfolk, Va. Margie was born to Dolores Cooper and Robert ‘Tex’ Cooper on April 11, 1965. She was a graduate of Norview High School in 1983. Margie also studied at Norfolk VoTech, learning American Sign language and Braille. Margie was a GED teacher and Braille transposer for Steven J. Aukward at the Therapy Center in Norfolk. She later became a Dept. of Defense employee, at the Navy Supply Center W-143, working as a Microfiche Technician and a Prism Systems operator. She also worked at several Dollar Tree locations.

Margie has never met a stranger. Your station in life, your job, your looks, your history, none of those things mattered to Margie. She immediately accepted you as part of her family! Even as a small child, that was her way. She loved everyone and they loved her. Margie would always go out of her way, to help anyone in need. She was always a shining example of God’s love. Margie loved jewelry, finding a bargain, or making a friend, anywhere she would happen to be. In the last few years, Margie has been an administrator and moderator for numerous YouTube and Facebook pages, Eddy Family Farms and the Lazy Acres Homestead.  She loved to read, write and was proficient in editing. She was a lifelong member of Norview United Methodist Church, serving the church as Treasurer for several years.

She was predeceased by her father, Robert ‘Tex’ Cooper, Grandparents Mary Ella ‘Mama’ Bowen, Mary Greenfield, and Lawrence ’PopPop’ Greenfield, sister Norma Mae Cooper Martinez and brother Bruce Barnes.

Left behind to cherish her memory are Dolores Cooper, mother. Siblings, Renee Barnes, Angie Cassidy, Sean Cassidy, Robin Cooper, Linda Wilson, Sherry Iverson, Juley Williams, and Patrick Webb. Sons Robert, William ‘Trey’ and Matt Peden, Clarence McCoy, John Honeycutt, Andrew Galindez, and Ariel Beliso. Margie’s daughters Amy Threlkeld, Irene Beliso, Arlene Galindez. Grandchildren Harmonie, Mattie Ella and Alivia Peden, Delesia and Ann Marie Threlkeld, Nicheall Proctor, Malachi Boone. Vaughn and Janalene Phillips, Vincent and Nenita-Marie Beliso-Mingrino, Andrew Galindez and Ace Gabriel Galindez. Elizabeth and Victoria Honeycutt, Makayla Beliso, and Xavier and Isaih Cabral.  Her great-grandchildren Ava, Serenity, Promise and Tylin.  Nieces and nephews: Mandy and Wayne Ellis, Darian Cooper and Robert Allen, Chrystina & Mario McLean, Nathan & Jeanita Demchak, Mary Cornett, Sean Cassidy, Jr., Jon and Joe Barnes. Margie’s family and friends span far and wide.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 2:00pm, at Norview United Methodist Church. Margie was such a kind soul! We had only met online through YT, but she was well loved. She was always so kind to us and just a beacon of positivity. We shared many emails and stories together throughout the years. She had such a deep love for her family, her children and grandchildren. And was a strong prayer warrior! She was a staple and treasure in our online community. We will miss her laughs, her advice, and her uplifting spirit. Rest in paradise sweet Margie. Till we meet again. Sending love and condolences to her family.
