Larry R. Carr, 73, passed away May 20, 2023, with his family by his side in Newport News, VA. He was born May 13, 1950 in Monroe, MI to Robert and Pauline Carr (Jennings). Larry graduated from Monroe High School in 1968 and enlisted in the United States Army the following year. He and his wife; Sheila married on July 13, 1974.
Larry was a patriot and distinguished service member, serving across the globe for 21 years including duty stations in Japan and Germany. Following his retirement from active military service, Larry spent the next 24 years continuing to serve his country as a government civilian.
His hobbies and interests included: family, nature (especially Hummingbirds), music, cooking, golfing, fishing, bowling, shooting pool, visiting the firearms range, Nascar, and tinkering with technology.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sheila Carr (Owens); daughter Kimberly; three sons, Larry Jr., Jeremy, and Nicholas; two sisters, Sandy and Connie; his brother Donnie; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
