Larry Lee Caffee, 76, went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2023.  He was born in Norfolk, Virginia on January 27, 1947 to the late Luther K. Caffee and Hazel B. Caffee.  He grew up in the southern part of Princess Anne County.  Larry fought for our country’s freedom in Vietnam while serving in the United States Army.  Shortly after returning home from Vietnam, he went to work for the City of Virginia Beach.  He retired as a Master Carpenter with 40 years of service.

Larry loved woodworking and built a home on Knotts Island in the 80’s.  He loved animals and all of God’s creations.  He especially loved watching beautiful sunsets from his back porch.  He also enjoyed photography and building computers. A man who loved God and accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at the age of 12, he loved sharing his testimony with others.  The spirit of love led Sandy and Larry to organize Project Emmanuel to help those in need in their Knotts Island Community.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Sandra of 52 years and their niece and her husband Tracey and Mike Boettcher.  He will be missed by his church family and the many friends gathered throughout his life.

His funeral service will be Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 11am Oak Grove Baptist Church, 691 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA by Pastor Chuck Mosley.  A visitation will be held prior to the service at 10am.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to; PROJECT EMMANUEL, P.O. Box 95, Knotts Island, NC  27950.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this sad and difficult time. We were close growing up and Larry was always so very sweet. Pete and I would often go to to his house with Mama and Miss Hazel always made Fruit Cakes…Yum! Larry will be indelible in our hearts and minds forever. Rest in Peace, Larry.
