Kevin Craig Dailey

August 17, 1947 - June 20, 2022

08/17/1947 - 06/20/2022

Kevin C. Dailey passed away peacefully on June 20, 2022.  KC as he was known to everyone, was a loving, generous and devoted son, father, grandfather, and friend.  A Vietnam Veteran who served in the 101st Airborne Division of the US Army, he lived his life honorably.  Making a positive impact on the many people he befriended, from those in Bergen County, New Jersey to Virginia Beach, Virginia to Dare County, North Carolina.  His departure will leave a big hole in the Porthole Court community that embraced him over the past twenty plus years.  Thank you to the many wonderful health care providers and staff that took great care of him over the years.  KC is survived by his daughter who he loved dearly, Kimberly Dailey Shepherd, her husband William, and grandchildren Grant and Kate.  A celebration of life will take place in the Outer Banks later this summer.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a charitable donation to the Kill Devil Hills Fire Department Auxiliary, PO Box 1719, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948

Kim, I am so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was such a kind man and I will always remember spending Thanksgivings with him at your house. He loved the brownies I made and would gather up his “to go” containers smiling from ear to ear. He will be missed by all.

Kim, my sincere condolences on the loss of your father. Kc has a special place in my heart as one of my fathers closest and dearest friends. I spent many hours talking with him over coffee and enjoying him. He’s with my father now, enjoying that morning cup.

Kim, I loved all the “dad” stories over the years and will always think of you both when I look at the birdhouse you gave me that was so carefully made by him. Much love to you all!!

Dad,
You will be missed. Look out for us from above, enjoy your pain free days. I will forever cherish the memories we made together…camping at Lake Gaston, learning to water ski at 6, all the fun days out on the boat, fishing, looking over the edge of the Grand Canyon, learning how to “do it myself”, coffees at Starbucks, BBQ at Southland, holidays together, your generosity and unconditional love. I will love you forever.
