Joshua Michael Frye, age 37, was born on October 16th 1982 at Portsmouth Naval Hospital and took flight from this Earth on June 4th 2020, in Virginia Beach, VA. Joshua was born the fourth child of still surviving parents Anne O’Leary and Denver Frye, spouse Colleen Frye. Joshua is survived by his siblings (oldest to youngest) Judith Hannah, spouse Chris Hannah, Rebecca Tuttle, spouse Matthew Tuttle, Daniel Frye, and Sarah Frye. Joshua grew up his whole life in Virginia, with a short period living in Chicago, before settling back down til his passing in Virginia Beach, VA. Joshua jumped from job to job; from Norfolk Sheriff’s Department; to Park Ranger; to Merchant Marine and his first job in retail. It wasn’t until 2009 he found his true calling as a tattoo artist with his last studio home at VB Ink and Tattoo and Piercing Studio. Joshua saw the world so differently and expressed it in what he was loved and was most known for was his artwork. Anyone that knew him knew he was a handsome kind-hearted independent goofy understandable laid-back kind of guy. Joshua was never a materialistic kind of guy he could and he wanted to just pack up and go on his motorcycle across country. Joshua had a knowledge that was beyond any when it came to music, movies, art and basically anything. He’s the kind of guy that made sure your day was a good one no matter how hard his was. Not only will Joshua be missed by his siblings, parents, fellow family members and friends but also by his nieces and nephews; Dezaray Frye, Natalie Frye, Lilliana Frye, Alice Hannah, Ronan Hannah, Mason Tuttle and Martin Tuttle. Joshua Michael Frye will truly be missed.
A memorial service date will be posted on his Facebook page soon. Thank you all for the love and support to his family!
Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hands.

A flood of memories come back working with Joshua at the grave shift at Amicis. He looked out for in his Josh sort-of-way. The world definitely lost some of its special essence June 4th. Condolences to the famiky.
I only met him a few times he was always up beat and very laid back always fun to be around. Our last conversation was about tattoos and you could tell he enjoyed talking about it. He will truly be missed
I remember Josh when he was such a little boy! He was a pistol! To know he grew into such a talented artist and fine young man makes me proud! Thank you Josh for all the joy you brought to everyone. God, Grant to them eternal rest. Let light perpetual shine upon them. May his soul and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Rest In Peace Cousin
My favorite memory will always be the 25 rubber ducks I stashed in your booth for April Fool’s. You’re such a giving person, you began painting each duck and wanted them to be sold for or given to charity. I miss you every day, man. I hope you know you were family to me. Wherever you are now, I’m sure you’re crushin’ it.
He was one of a kind and complete joy to be around. I’m glad to have met him, he will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to his family and friends…. ❤️
