John Waverly Golden II

On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, John Waverly Golden II, passed away at the age of 66.
John was born in Portsmouth, Virginia to Robert and Nona (Bunting) Golden. He worked in printing and engraving for several years before pursuing his passion in computer technology and working in network security.
John had a passion for the ocean, whether surfing or body boarding, and as he got older, would spend hours in the ocean paddling around and waving at the lifeguards as they whistled for him to come closer to the shore. He was also an avid music lover and enjoyed looking for planets with his telescope. But if you asked John what he loved the most, he would say his children and his little dog Jimmy. He was known for his charm, great sense of humor and his compassionate spirit.
John was preceded in death by his father, Robert, and his mother, Nona. He is survived by his children, Megan and John, three grandchildren, Cash, Jack and Wesley, his sister Gloria, and brothers Bruce and Michael.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00am.
