John William Achor, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, July 17, 2016 from complications related to heart surgery. He was 80 years old.
John grew up in Mt. Orb, OH, where he developed a love for all things cars. He owned many different models over the years, and was a founding member of the Tri-County Corvette Club of Cincinnati, OH.
He served in the US Air Force and Reserves as a staff sergeant in the Combat Support Engineering Group. His proclivity for engineering carried on in his civilian life, where he held positions with Virginia International Terminals and the Port of Seattle, which he retired from in 2003.
John leaves his mother, Alice Fields Bradley; his wife Chris; son Mick and wife Lee; brothers Leon Bradley and wife Marcie, and Dino Bradley; sisters Kay Bradley Kampsen and husband Robert, and Linda Bradley Roush; stepsons Marvin Moser and wife Fontina, Ed Moser, and Joel Moser and wife Judy; along with 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his father, John William Achor, Sr. and step father, Willard Bradley.
A Memorial Service will be held at Kempsville Christian Church in Virginia Beach, VA on Saturday, July 23rd from 2 – 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks a donation be made to the Arthritis Foundation, Florida Chapter in his name at http://www.arthritis.org/florida/, or contact the family for more information.
