Johnny was a resident of my Uncle Earls for over 25 years in Va Beach. When I would visit he would come out and talk to our family. He always knew what was going on in the neighborhood. Since the learning of his passing his neighbors advised he will be sorely missed.! I only recently heard stories of his family. He had a picture of his Dad at the Berlin, Germany Olympics 1936 with the Hindenburg riding through the stadium. I learned lots of history just sitting and listening to him when he got sick. In his last days he was checked in on by his friends he had played golf with before his illness, neighbors and other friends. He was proud to be a NC Tarheal and had a special place for Duke since his
daughter worked there. He had a lot of cowboy boots which I assume was an homage to his southern roots. May the North Carolina sky be a little more Carolina blue! 🙏
